Richard W. Brown is no stranger to the plains of Southern New Mexico, brought up in a Ranching family and raised in Carlsbad New Mexico. It is here that Richard learned to love the land and appreciate the Ranching and Farming way of life. Richard has spent many of days on horse back working cattle, fixing and mending fences. He is a 5th generation New Mexico Rancher and Businessman with ties to the ranching community dating back to the late 1800’s, His Great grandfather founded the Grape Vine Ranch Just South of Carlsbad, New Mexico Back then it was know as Eddy City, Richard states. Richard started his Real estate negotiating skills by helping to assist his Grandfather (Joel “Bart” Farrell) in buying and selling of farms and ranches. When Richard was asked about being raised on a ranch and what it was like. Richard simply replied, “It was the best life a person could ask for, it teaches you respect, ethics for hard work, knowledge for problem solving, and love for outdoors”.
Richard graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1985, and from there he joined the United States Navy serving his country, spending 4 1/2 years in active duty status then spending another 6 years as a Reservist in the U.S. Navy. Building on the work ethics that Richard had learned from ranching, and striving for excellence he quickly made it through the ranks receiving many letters of accommodation from Captains to Admirals for his outstanding work ethics and knowledge. Captain Edward P. Angulim, of the U.S.S. Fort Fisher seemed to sum Richard’s Knowledge and work ethics up best in just one sentence in his letter of accommodation. “With out your dedication, your commitment to excellence, your knowledge, and your ability to achieve and to go above and beyond the call of duty, this mission would have been impossible to have achieved with out you”. Always one to move to the top quickly Richard was the youngest person ever to make foreman for Pacific North West Bell. Upon his return to New Mexico Richard earned his associate licenses in Real Estate from Dear Borne school of Real estate in 1997 and later earning his Qualifying Brokers licenses in 2001 from Norris School of Real Estate. Richard has been a multi million dollar producer in real estate sales since 1997. Richard started his own real estate company in 2000, taking Real estate services to a new plateau with a comment to excellence in Customer and client service, and knowledge of real estate. During Richard’s real estate career he has received many awards, from being the Roswell Associations of Realtors Rookie of the year in 1998 to being the N.R.C.C.’S Business man of the year for 2003, In order to stay on top of rising issue in the farming and ranching industries Richard has attended the New Mexico Beef symposiums for 2008, and 2009. Most recently in 2009 Richard earned his (RFMM) designation as a Ranch & Farm marketing Masters Accreditation from New Mexico Farm, Ranch, and Commercial Realty. In Just 13 years Richard has accomplished more than most real estate professional do in a life time but don’t be looking for Richard to be stopping here when asked what was next on his list to accomplish. Richard simply stated to do and be the best at my job keep working hard for my customer and clients, when you do this all thing fall in to order, and all the other rewards will follow.
Richard met and Married Trina Longmire of Roswell, New Mexico they have an 11 year old daughter Hannah who loves horses and is aspiring to become a horse breeder and Veterinarian. Richard has instilled his values of respect and hard work in to his family. Richard’s Wife, Trina is also a Real estate broker and has a degree in elementary education. Richard enjoys his time with his family. In his down time Richard also enjoys hunting, Fishing, traveling and racing I.M.C.A. Modifies, and an occasional Drag race One of Richard’s closet family Friend’s is Pro stock drag racer Johnny Gray and Family. Richard states that “Johnny Gray has been a Family friend since he was knee high to a grass hopper”, in his usual Joking and light hearted manner.
